Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Tester to join our team and work on testing advanced semiconductor design and reverse engineering tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in testing legacy desktop-based systems and a strong understanding of the semiconductor domain, including chip design and manufacturing processes. This role requires a deep technical expertise, domain knowledge, and the ability to design and execute robust automation testing frameworks tailored to specialized engineering tools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Automation Testing:
o Develop, enhance, and maintain robust automation test frameworks for desktop-based tools used in circuit reverse engineering.
o Implement automation scripts to ensure efficient and thorough regression, functional, and performance testing.
2. Domain-Specific Testing:
o Understand and validate semiconductor design processes and workflows.
o Conduct domain-specific functional and integration testing to ensure accuracy in chip design validation and analysis tools.
3. Manual Testing:
o Execute complex manual test cases to identify edge cases and domain-specific scenarios that are critical to semiconductor workflows.
4. Collaboration:
o Work closely with developers, architects, and domain experts to understand tool functionalities and requirements.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to create comprehensive test plans and strategies.
5. Issue Tracking and Resolution:
o Identify, document, and prioritize bugs and issues.
o Collaborate with development teams for efficient issue resolution.
6. Continuous Improvement:
o Stay updated with trends and advancements in semiconductor testing.
o Propose and implement process improvements to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency
Key Requirements:
Experience:
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in testing, with at least 4 years in the semiconductor domain or related fields (chip design, EDA tools, etc.).
- Experience with legacy desktop-based testing is mandatory.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in developing automation scripts using tools like Python, Tcl, Perl, or other relevant scripting languages.
o Strong knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium (if applicable to desktop), Test Complete, or custom frameworks.
o Familiarity with tools/processes used in semiconductor design and manufacturing.
Domain Knowledge:
o Hands-on experience or knowledge in semiconductor chip design workflows, EDA tools, or circuit reverse engineering.
o Understanding of key concepts such as layout vs. schematic (LVS), design rule checking (DRC), and circuit simulations.
Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
o Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in semiconductor companies or with clients in the semiconductor industry.
- Exposure to hardware-software integration testing.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git and issue tracking tools like JIRA
